Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Embedded Controls Engineer for the Starmind program to advance the pointing and control of satellites. You will contribute to design trades, simulations, flight software, and on-orbit deployment of features in space.

You will work on high-fidelity simulations in C++, Python, and MATLAB, implement production software in C++, and support hardware development and fleet performance monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, physics or an engineering discipline.
• Experience with C++ and embedded controls.
• Experience with closed-loop control systems design and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, analysis, and implementation of electromechanical control systems (e.g., solar array actuators, antenna gimbals).
• Design and analysis of satellite attitude control and momentum management systems.
• Develop fluid and power system controls for propulsion systems.
• Apply state estimation for attitude determination.
• Specify hardware performance, support hardware iterations, and deploy firmware.
