Job summary

Stealth Startup in the United States is seeking an Embedded Firmware and Controls Engineer to own the low-level firmware and motion control for large-scale industrial manufacturing equipment. You will write embedded code, develop control loops, and integrate software with hardware across a mixed PLC and custom electronics environment.

You will design motion control systems, tune servos, plan trajectories, and implement deterministic control in real-time environments.

Qualifications

4+ years of embedded firmware or controls experience in a hands-on, build-oriented environment.
Experience with motion control, servo drives, encoder feedback, closed-loop tuning.
Knowledge of RTOS concepts and deterministic control architectures.
Experience writing PLC logic in Structured Text or IEC 61131-3 languages.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain embedded firmware for custom electronics in industrial equipment.
Design and implement motion control systems, including servo tuning and trajectory planning.
Write PLC control logic and integrate with machine electrical and mechanical systems.
Work within real-time operating environments ensuring deterministic control at machine level.
Troubleshoot firmware and control issues across hardware, software and system boundaries.
Generate firmware documentation and version control practices.
Collaborate with build technicians, electrical and mechanical engineers, including remote teammates.
Contribute to controls engineering standards and documentation as the function scales.
