Job summary

Emerson is offering a Software Engineering Spring Co-op position. You will help design and develop embedded firmware, plan work across weeks to months, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet firmware requirements.

You will troubleshoot using unit tests, emulators, simulators, IDEs, and bench tests, while contributing to process improvements. This role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and hands-on development within a structured internship program.

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor’s in engineering.
Zero (0) years of related experience.
Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Apply technical expertise in the design and development of embedded firmware.
Prepare detailed plans spanning several weeks to months to complete assignments.
Troubleshoot and debug software using unit tests, emulators, simulators, IDE, and bench testing.
Provide process improvements & recommendations.
Work with internal cross-functional teams to understand firmware requirements.
Perform functional integration testing prior to hand-off to the test & evaluation team.
Conduct software design reviews on assigned projects.
