Job summary

HP is seeking an Embedded Firmware and Software Engineer to design, develop, debug, and validate firmware for embedded platforms and peripherals. You will optimize microcontroller code, manage hardware interfaces, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable firmware across ISPs and hardware stacks.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline or commensurate experience.
• 0–2 years of firmware development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops full software stack for firmware and related data flow frameworks.
• Designs and implements firmware modules to support hardware interfaces.
• Performs system-level debugging and troubleshooting of hardware/firmware issues.
• Leads architecture and maintenance of complex firmware designs.
• Writes and updates firmware, including DSP, EFI drivers, EFI applications, and BIOS/UEFI.
• Executes test plans and logs issues.
• Collaborates with internal and outsourced development partners on firmware design and development.
• Contributes to projects with research and data analysis; provides updates on progress and impediments.
