Job summary

Qnovia, Inc. in Newport Beach, CA is seeking a Firmware Engineer to develop embedded software for connected inhalation devices. You will implement firmware for ARM Cortex-M MCUs, enable Bluetooth LE, manage sensor data, and support device provisioning.

You will work with hardware engineers, write tests, and ensure compliance with IEC 62304. A bachelor's in EE/CS and 5+ years of embedded experience required; hybrid work option and equity available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for resource-constrained environments.
• Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with BLE, SPI, I2C, UART communication protocols.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and embedded debugging tools.
• Understanding of software development for regulated medical devices (IEC 62304).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test embedded firmware for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
• Develop real-time control algorithms for ultrasonic nebulization and aerosol generation.
• Integrate sensor systems including flow sensors, pressure transducers, and accelerometers.
• Write and maintain unit tests and integration tests for firmware modules.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on PCB bring-up and system-level debugging.
• Support firmware update and device provisioning infrastructure.
• Contribute to design documentation and SDLC artifacts per IEC 62304.
