Voyant Photonics in Midtown Manhattan, NY, is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to bring up new boards quickly and own drivers and control firmware that run on them.

You will implement real‑time control loops in embedded C++, work with SPI/I2C/UART, and study schematics and datasheets to enable robust, reusable firmware across boards.

The role emphasizes hands‑on hardware bring‑up and measurable performance, collaborating with hardware, optics and firmware teams to deliver robust systems.

Qualificações

• BS in computer engineering, computer science or related field, with 2+ years of embedded software experience.
• Proficiency in C or C++ on microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M, STM32 or similar).
• Familiarity with Python for test automation and data analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Implement control algorithms in real‑time embedded C++: discretization, sample‑rate, latency budgets, anti‑windup, saturation handling, and numerical robustness.
• Write drivers and firmware structure for new boards to enable reuse on future designs.
• Bring up new boards by reading schematics and datasheets, probing signals, debugging interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART), and performing small hardware reworks.
