Job summary

SGS Consulting in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer to develop software for MCU/SoC based systems with BLE and sensor interfaces.

You will design and implement firmware for UART/SPI/I2C peripherals, create BLE GATT services, and optimize power management for low‑power operation. Collaborate with hardware and test teams, document work, and verify designs using sniffers and logic analyzers in a fast‑paced, changing environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in CS or EE, or equivalent experience.
• Experience interfacing UART, SPI, and I2C with sensors or peripherals.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience authoring BLE GATT services for MCU-to-host interfaces.
• Experience with power-saving features and sensor interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware for MCU/SoC with wireless communications.
• Interface sensors and peripherals via UART/SPI/I2C and verify with sniffers/logic analyzers.
• Identify, report, and solve problems with minimal direction.
• Adapt to a dynamic, high-paced environment where duties may change frequently.
