Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and support embedded firmware for industrial products. This role emphasizes low-level, bare-metal firmware and full lifecycle ownership from concept through production support.

Responsibilities include C-based firmware for microcontroller systems, RTOS/FreeRTOS environments, and interfacing with RS232, USB, Ethernet, and Wi‑Fi. Collaboration with hardware and test teams is essential for optimum performance.

Qualifications

Strong proficiency in C programming for embedded systems.
Experience delivering cradle-to-grave embedded products using bare-metal programming.
Experience in RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS.
Knowledge of embedded communications: RS232, USB, Ethernet, Wi‑Fi.
Good debugging and hardware/software interface troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded firmware in C for microcontroller-based systems.
Lead products through full development lifecycle from design to maintenance.
Design and implement bare-metal embedded software.
Develop software in RTOS environments (FreeRTOS).
Interface embedded systems with RS232, USB, Ethernet, and Wi‑Fi.
Collaborate with hardware, manufacturing, and test teams to optimize performance.
Support verification, validation, and field issue resolution.
