Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking an embedded software engineer to join the IPS Software team. You will develop bare‑metal firmware and low‑level device drivers to enable bring‑up and validation of Qualcomm reference platforms.

You will collaborate with hardware, silicon, and systems teams across global sites, performing debug and validation tasks on multiple platforms. Strong driver experience and lab skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD with software engineering experience
• 4+ years in software engineering or related work
• Proficiency in C, C++, Java, Python, or similar

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain bare-metal firmware and low-level device drivers for Qualcomm reference platforms
• Perform early hardware bring-up and debug across hardware, firmware, and system boundaries
• Implement and extend test firmware for platform validation and factory enablement
• Collaborate with hardware design, silicon, systems, and validation teams to resolve integration issues
• Analyze failures using schematics, traces, logic analyzer data, and lab instrumentation
• Support multiple platforms and hardware variants with adaptable software
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and best practices for embedded software
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on platform bring-up
• Participate in cross-site reviews with clear technical communication
