Acloché LLC in New York state is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join its engineering team onsite in North Syracuse, NY. You will write embedded C firmware for microcontroller-based systems used in HVAC/R and industrial applications.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, debug firmware and hardware interactions, and participate in new product development from concept through production. A hands-on engineer with strong debugging skills will fit well.

Qualifications

• Hands-on embedded C firmware for microcontroller-based systems.
• Strong knowledge of MCUs, interrupts, timers, peripherals and interfaces.
• Experience developing and debugging bare-metal firmware.
• Ability to troubleshoot firmware–hardware interactions.
• Able to explain past embedded projects, challenges and solutions.
• Experience with new product development preferred.
• HVAC/R controls or industrial electronics a plus.

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with an established Central New York manufacturer to find an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join its engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer who enjoys writing embedded C code, developing electronic controls, and seeing products move from concept through production.

You'll work closely with electrical, mechanical, and test engineers to develop and improve microcontroller‑based electronic products used in HVAC/R and industrial applications.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware using C programming.

• Develop firmware for 8‑bit, 16‑bit, and 32‑bit microcontrollers.

• Create control logic for sensors, switches, relays, motors, and other electronic components.

• Collaborate with hardware engineers on product development, integration, and troubleshooting.

• Debug hardware and firmware using oscilloscopes, development tools, and laboratory equipment.

• Participate in new product development, testing, and validation.

• Troubleshoot existing products and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Document code, participate in design reviews, and support products through manufacturing.

What We're Looking For

• Hands‑on experience writing embedded C firmware for microcontroller‑based systems is required.

• Strong understanding of microcontrollers, interrupts, timers, peripherals, and hardware interfaces.

• Experience developing and debugging bare‑metal embedded firmware.

• Ability to troubleshoot interactions between firmware and electronic hardware.

• Comfortable explaining previous embedded projects, technical challenges, and solutions.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience with new product development is strongly preferred.

• Experience with HVAC/R controls, industrial electronics, or similar products is a plus.

Compensation & Additional Details

• Competitive base salary of $85,000–$115,000, depending on experience.
