Job summary

Soap Creek Resources in North Syracuse, NY is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems using C. You will work closely with hardware and software engineers to bring concepts into production.

The role focuses on 8-bit to 32-bit MCUs, developing control logic for sensors, relays, motors, and other components, and debugging firmware with scopes and lab tools.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience writing embedded C firmware for microcontroller-based systems is required.
• Strong understanding of microcontrollers, interrupts, timers, peripherals, and hardware interfaces.
• Experience developing and debugging bare-metal embedded firmware.
• Ability to troubleshoot interactions between firmware and electronic hardware.
• Comfortable explaining previous embedded projects, technical challenges, and solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with new product development is strongly preferred.
• Experience with HVAC/R controls, industrial electronics, or similar products is a plus.

We are partnering with an established Central New York manufacturer to find an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join its engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer who enjoys writing embedded C code, developing electronic controls, and seeing products move from concept through production.

Compensation & Additional Details

• Competitive base salary of $85,000–$115,000, depending on experience.
