Job summary

Brightsmith in Pittsburgh is seeking an Embedded Engineer to design and maintain firmware and control systems for a scalable energy product. You will own state machines, configuration, and validation to ensure reliable field performance.

You have 3+ years in embedded firmware, strong C/C++ and Python skills, MATLAB/Simulink, and experience with CAN networks and Linux-based development. You’ll join a hands-on, ownership-driven team building robust, deployable systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in embedded firmware and control systems.
• Strong programming skills in: C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience with: State machine design and control logic, Firmware validation and repeatable system behavior.
• Familiarity with: CAN networks (SAE J1939), Vector tools, Linux-based development environments.
