Job summary

Quantum Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to develop real-time applications and BSPs for 8/16/32-bit bare-metal and VME/VPX systems. You will write device drivers, participate in all software lifecycle stages, and contribute to documentation and design reviews.

The role requires 3+ years in C/C++ on embedded hardware, hardware integration, and the ability to obtain a Secret level clearance. Knowledge of RTOS, ARINC-653 IPC, and DO-178B is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS Electrical/Computer Engineering or BS Computer Science preferred; Associates degree required.
• 3+ years of experience with C/C++ on embedded systems (avionics/automotive preferred).
• 3+ years of hardware integration including device drivers.
• Ability to read digital and analog schematics to drive software development.
• Ability to obtain security clearance at Secret level.

Responsibilities

• Develop real-time embedded applications meeting strict timing requirements.
• Develop BSP software for proprietary and VME/VPX embedded systems.
• Develop device driver software for hardware peripherals (register-level, OS drivers, FPGA/CPLD peripherals).
• Participate in all software development phases from requirements to testing and qualification.
• Generate software documentation (SRS, SDD, STD, etc.).
• Support design review presentations for internal and external audiences.
• Participate in testing and qualification with field validators.
• Contribute to process improvements and adoption of new technologies.

Key Responsibilities & Skills

Responsibilities/Skills:

• Develops real-time embedded applications that meet strict timing requirements
• Develops BSP software for proprietary (8/16/32-bit bare metal) and VME/VPX embedded systems
• Develops device driver software for hardware peripherals (register-level drivers, modify existing OS drivers, drivers for custom FPGA/CPLD peripherals)
• Participates in all software development phases from requirements, design, coding, implementation, testing, and qualification
• Generates/supports generation of software documents (SRS, SDD, STD, etc.)
• Supports design review presentations for both internal and external customer audiences
• Participates in the testing and qualification processes in the field and with external validators
• Participates in improving development processes and implementation of new technologies

Knowledge/Requirements:

Required

• BS Electrical/Computer Engineering, BS Computer Science preferred. Associates degree required.
• 3+ years of experience with C/C++ on embedded systems (prefer avionics or automotive)
• 3+ years of experience with hardware integration including device drivers
• Ability to understand digital & analog electronics schematics to drive software development
• Ability to obtain security clearance at Secret level

Preferred

• Linux kernel development and build systems (Yocto, Buildroot) experience
• BSP development experience for SH2A, ARM, PowerPC, or x86 architecture processors
• Experience with Agile development methods
• Experience with FPGAs/CPLDs, VHDL/Verilog
• Experience with RTOS, Linux, IPC (ARINC-653 RTOS is a plus).
• Experience with aircraft avionics including MIL-STD-1553. FACE experience is a plus
• Experience with DO178B/C is a strong plus, AS9100C/AS9115 is plus, data modeling is a plus
