Embedded Electrical Engineer - Maritime Systems

Cannonsburg, PA

Contract Position

$42.24-$45.06/Hour

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the architecture, design, testing, and production of torpedo guidance and control systems for the U.S. Department of Defense.

  • Apply expertise in AC/DC and DC/DC power systems, including control and safety circuitry, to support reliable system development.

  • Utilize electrical engineering CAD tools and perform mixed-signal circuit analysis and design.

  • Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware for prototype and production systems.

  • Research, prototype, and innovate new design architectures and electronics solutions, including component selection and multilayer PCB layouts.

  • Support the full product development lifecycle: concept, design, modeling, prototyping, and testing.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams in fast-paced, R&D environments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field; or a Master’s degree with relevant coursework.

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required by federal law).

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical engineering, including design and test of mixed-signal systems.

  • Proficiency in electrical CAD tools and circuit design for power conversion (e.g., DC/DC Buck, Boost, LDO; AC/DC systems).

  • Background in multilayer PCB design and familiarity with protocols such as CAN, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet.

  • Hands-on experience with hardware integration, troubleshooting, and system verification.

  • Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with safety-critical circuit design in industries such as defense, medical, or automotive.

    • Familiarity with R&D environments involving rapid prototyping and iterative testing.

    • Understanding of cybersecurity considerations in embedded systems.
