Job summary

H3X Technologies Inc. is seeking an embedded controls intern to support firmware development across the HPDM product line. The role offers significant responsibility and a fast-paced, skunkworks-style team working on high‑density motor control projects.

You will work on C++ firmware, motor simulations, and tooling, with exposure to testing and documentation. Spring interns are prioritized, with future Summer roles and potential Co-Op extensions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in C++ and embedded systems.
• Comfort with Python for scripting and tool development.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and maintenance of motor control firmware in C++, from low-level drivers to control algorithms.
• Assist in development and maintenance of motor simulations, configuration tools, and data processing scripts.
• Collaborate with other teams to add support for new products and features.
• Track down and resolve firmware bugs, and write firmware to help identify hardware bugs.
• Support testing with custom builds, data collection, and troubleshooting.
• Expand firmware testing and documentation, including unit tests, CI/CD pipelines, linting, and test plans.
