Actalent seeks an Embedded Controls Engineer to develop physics-based models and advanced control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink. You will build models from scratch for electromechanical platforms and drive new product development in a dynamic team environment.

The role emphasizes model-based design, automatic code generation for embedded software, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. A Bachelor's in EE is required, with desirable genset and medium-voltage experience.

Qualifications

• Hands-on MATLAB/Simulink model-based design.
• Ability to build models from scratch, not just modify existing ones.
• Strong understanding of physical system modeling and controls theory.

Responsibilities

• Develop physics-based, mathematical, and data-driven models using MATLAB/Simulink for complex physical systems.
• Create and validate models from scratch for engines, generators, and electromechanical platforms.
• Design, simulate, tune, and validate advanced control algorithms for embedded control applications.
• Configure models for automatic code generation into embedded software environments.
• Participate in model verification, simulation, testing, and controls validation activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop next-generation controls technology.
• Support embedded controls and software development using model-based design methodologies.
• Adapt to changing requirements and technology directions during product development lifecycle.
• Explain modeling methodologies and results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
