Job Description:
Role: Embedded Controls Engineer
Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent with AXISCADES.
Job Duties:
This project requires strong technical skills with MATLAB Simulink algorithm development experience who can troubleshoot and solve software issues in EV / Hybrid vehicle applications.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Investigates embedded software problems, understands causal mechanisms, recommends appropriate action, owns problem resolution and validation, run design review and documents results.
- Makes decisions in the areas of software requirements, implementation, and testing that impact the quality and performance of software subsystems and feature classes.
- Troubleshooting software and electrical integration issues
- Analyzing CAN communication and vehicle data
- Supporting feature/function integration
- Collaborating across software, systems, validation, and product teams.
- Support general controls and diagnostics development, troubleshooting, validation for electrification product.
- Conduct bench or vehicle testing to verify embedded software features functionality and robustness.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- MATLAB Simulink algorithm development
- In-Vehicle Validation: CAN tools, J1939.
- Calibration/Tuning knowledge, related to Diagnostics, Sensors etc.
- General Electric Vehicle knowledge: Battery Pack/System, Traction, Power Electronics, EV charging/AC/DC Fast Charging/ Vehicle-to-Grid type of feature
- 7-step problem solving, FMEA, RCA, FTA etc.
- Good communicator – written and verbal
ESSENTIAL:
- College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines.
- Must be able to understand controls software and troubleshoot software/controls issues
- CAN communication
- Involvement in specification, design, implementation, testing and/or release of software
- Experience with Matlab SIMULINK is required
- Experience with In-Vehicle Validation: CAN tools, J1939 is highly desired
- Experience with calibration/tuning knowledge, related to Governors, Diagnostics, Sensors etc. is highly desired
- General Electric Vehicle knowledge: Battery Pack/System, Traction, Power Electronics, EV charging/AC/DC Fast Charging/ Vehicle-to-Grid type of feature is highly desired
- Transmissions experience is helpful but not required
- 7-step problem solving, FMEA, RCA, FTA etc. is helpful but not required
