Job summary

eero is seeking an experienced engineering manager to lead the Connectivity - platform engineering team, spanning the device software stack from the bootloader to the management plane in Golang, Rust and Python.

You will hire and coach a team of embedded SW engineers, provide hands-on technical leadership, deliver high-impact features on tight timelines, and collaborate with product and hardware to drive long-term platform improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 4+ years working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• 5+ years leading multi-tier web services development.
• Knowledge of full software/hardware/networks lifecycle and DevOps basics.
• Experience partnering with product or program management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Embedded SW Engineers driving bring-up and platform support.
• Program and debug in C, Python, Go, Rust and related areas.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership with code reviews and contributions.
• Hire, mentor, and coach engineers for eeroOS and platform bring-up.
• Deliver high-impact features on tight timelines and build detailed schedules.
• Communicate status clearly to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
• Estimate delivery dates based on velocity and remaining work.
• Identify and implement investments for long-term delivery.
• Drive process improvements and monitor performance data.
• Manage headcount, recruiting, and performance evaluations.
