Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a senior software/controls engineer to advance chassis and powertrain embedded systems, coordinating supplier teams and driving software change management for OTA updates and validations.

You will work on driver assist features, CAN, AutoSAR, and HIL testing, ensuring safety and reliability while collaborating across global teams to deliver high-quality vehicle systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of design/development in chassis or powertrain controls
• 5+ years applying FMEA and quality assurance processes using 8D/5 Whys/Is/Is-Not
• 5+ years managing multiple supplier and in-house software teams for on-time delivery
• 5+ years delivering vehicle-wide solutions meeting requirements and ensuring safety/reliability
• 5+ years diagnosing electromechanical systems and applying Functional Safety principles
• 5+ years working with vehicle network protocols (AutoSAR, SAE J1979)
• 5+ years using data acquisition systems (CANalyzer)
• 5+ years using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow/SysML for design and analysis

Responsibilities

• Manage software delivery and calibration coordination (timing, builds, OTA, change mgmt)
• Guide supplier partners through GPDS
• Support driver assist features
• Deliver software work packages including docs and validation
• Coordinate cross-module network communications (OTA, CS, MA, E2E)
• Investigate DTC issues with QED
• Support service manual development
• Support Breadboard/HiL activities
• Support prototype vehicle builds and flashing software
• Release diagnostics specs
• Ensure Central SW requirements compliance
• Lead SW Technical Design Reviews (TDRs)
• Support EOL setup and issue resolution
