Job summary

Bell Textron Inc. in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an Avionics Software Engineer to design, develop and test embedded software for military avionics programs such as AH-1Z and UH-1Y.

You will apply software lifecycle principles, work with C, C++, and C#, use LDRA/VectorCAST/DOORS, support integration, and collaborate with suppliers and customers while maintaining security requirements and pursuing innovations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 2 years aviation experience in avionics.
• Experience with embedded software in Linux environment and C, C++, C#.
• Familiarity with DO-178B and software verification processes.
• Knowledge of MIL STD 1553, ARINC 429, RS-232 and RS-422.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to design, develop, test, and analyze embedded software for avionics systems.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of static and dynamic test tools; PC Lint, LDRA TestBed, VectorCAST.
• Decompose system requirements into software requirements and tests using DOORS.
• Plan and manage software integration projects to meet customer and program requirements.
• Recommend design improvements and identify opportunities for capability enhancements in weapon systems.
