Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Illinois seeks an Architect / Technical Lead to define and lead the technical architecture for an aftermarket In-Cab AI Assistant platform for heavy equipment. You will own end-to-end architecture, safety, compliance, and security.

You will guide embedded and edge compute, hardware/software integration, and latency/offline behavior targets, delivering architecture artifacts and decision records while coordinating cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Experience leading architecture or technical teams.
• Experience designing embedded or edge compute systems.
• Strong Linux-based embedded software design background.
• Experience with hardware/software integration for compute/display/audio.
• Familiarity with safety, compliance, and security constraints.
• Experience with OTA, diagnostics, logging, and device management.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end system architecture across embedded compute, display, audio, and diagnostics.
• Provide technical leadership across discovery, implementation, integration, optimization, and release readiness.
• Translate objectives into architecture decisions and priorities.
• Ensure safety boundaries, including no AI-driven machine movement and no bypass of confirmation patterns.
• Guide machine integration and grounded assistant behavior; address latency, offline behavior, reliability.
• Produce architecture artifacts, interface definitions, and technical decision records.
• Support troubleshooting, supplier coordination, and risk reduction.
