Job summary

Service Corporation International in Georgia is seeking an Embalmer to perform embalming and related preparations for the deceased with respect and professionalism. Responsibilities include restorations, removals and transfers, dressing, hair styling or cosmetics, and maintaining the preparation room; must verify identification and embalming authorization and comply with licensing rules; strong communication and problem-solving skills required; willingness to lift heavy loads and work safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mortuary college degree or state-required certification.
• Two years of embalming experience in a 200-call minimum/year funeral firm embalming facility preferred.
• Current state/province issued driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Embalm the deceased respectfully and accurately.
• Perform restorations, removals and transfers, dressing and cosmetics.
• Verify identification and embalming authorization.
• Assist with preparation room and facility maintenance.
• Clean/sterilize equipment and manage spills per MSDS guidelines.
• Assist with chemical and supply inventory and handling.
