Job summary

Customer.io is seeking an Email Deliverability Specialist to join our Technical Support deliverability program. You will help customers reach the inbox by diagnosing sending issues, advising on best practices, and guiding senders through an evolving email ecosystem.

You will audit sender setups, monitor reputation across IPs and domains, work with Engineering on complex cases, and create documentation and training to scale deliverability across the team.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of email deliverability experience at a mid-size/large ESP or B2B SaaS.
• Deep understanding of SPF/DKIM/DMARC/BIMI and SMTP/DNS with the ability to work with Engineering.
• Proficiency with provider data feeds (Postmaster Tools, SNDS) and translating metrics into recommendations.
• Working knowledge of email compliance and acceptable use standards.
• Experience building processes, documentation, or training to scale a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable leading customer calls.
• Located in the United States or Canada.
• Bonus: involvement in deliverability communities and partnering with Customer Success teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted deliverability advisor to customers, handling complex cases through to resolution.
• Audit sender setup and monitor reputation across IPs and domains using authentication and provider tools.
• Work through technical issues with Engineering, sharing trends from cases with Product/Engineering.
• Identify acceptable use policy violations and spam complaints, discuss compliance with customers.
• Coach and train CSMs and Technical Support to handle deliverability conversations.
• Improve processes, tools, and resources to scale deliverability support across the organization.
