Optigy Group is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for locum tenens in Kilgore, Texas. Start is October 2026 with 12-hour day or night shifts in a freestanding ED, offering flexible ongoing coverage.

Board-eligible or board-certified EM or FM; Texas license required; EPIC EMR; onsite orientation and credentialing; minimum 5 shifts per month; no call; ongoing coverage beginning October 2026 with ample shift availability.

Qualifications

• EM or FM residency trained.
• ABEM, AOBEM, or ABFM accepted.
• ABPS not accepted.
• Active Texas medical license required.
• ABFM physicians: at least 2 years ED experience at facilities with 10,000+ annual ED visits (for ABFM).
• ATLS & ACLS: EM Board Certified: ATLS initial required; Non-boarded EM/FM: current ATLS and ACLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 12-hour day or night ED coverage in a freestanding ED.
• Work in a lower-volume ED environment.
• Onsite hospital orientation and credentialing support.
• Flexible ongoing coverage with minimum 5 shifts per month.

Emergency Medicine Physician – Locum Tenens

Kilgore, Texas

Start: October 2026
Schedule: 12-hour day or night shifts
Setting: Freestanding Emergency Department
Coverage: Ongoing
Minimum Commitment: 5 shifts/month
Call: None

Opportunity Highlights

• Ongoing locum coverage beginning October 2026

• Approximately 50 shifts available per month

• Choose from day or night shifts

• 7:00 AM-7:00 PM or 7:00 PM-7:00 AM

• Minimum commitment of just 5 shifts per month

• Practice independently in a lower-volume ED environment

• EPIC EMR

• Generally no NP/PA coverage, with potential APP support during winter months if volumes increase

• Board Eligible physicians accepted

Practice Requirements

• EM or FM residency trained

• ABEM, AOBEM, or ABFM accepted

• ABPS not accepted

• Active Texas medical license required

ABFM physicians:
Must have at least 2 years of ED experience at facilities with 10,000+ annual ED visits.

ATLS & ACLS Requirements

EM Board Certified physicians:

• Initial ATLS required; does not need to remain current

Non-boarded EM/FM physicians:

• Current ATLS required

• Current ACLS required

Onboarding & Credentialing

• Onsite hospital orientation

• EPIC proficiency test-out available

• EPIC training required if test-out is not completed

• Genesis online modules

• Fit testing

• OB Hypertension & Postpartum Hemorrhage training via UpToDate

• Standard privileging timeframe: 60-90 days

Immunization Requirements

• Hepatitis B series or positive titer

• MMR series or positive titer

• Tdap within the last 10 years

• Varicella series or positive titer

• TB screening within the last year

• Flu vaccine required during flu season
