Job summary

ABB is seeking an EL Smart Power Quality Manager in Mebane, NC to lead the local quality strategy and systems, ensuring customer satisfaction and sustainable operations. You will drive prevention, continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, and timely responses, coordinating across functions to hit targets and maintain certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering; Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical (preferred) PLUS minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 procedures; preferable.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with strong quantitative and analytical skills; Task and detail oriented; manage time and drives activities under pressure.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical prints.
  • Good oral and written communication in English; proven presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt trained (certification preferred).
  • Skills in planning, initiating, and executing audits, preferred
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in Excel, Power Point, and Minitab.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring appropriate internal and external communication relevant to quality management system.
  • Implementing short, medium- and long-term strategy, activities, and planning to develop the quality management system, based on identified risks and opportunities, in collaboration and agreement with the local management team.
  • Establishing a closed-loop quality cycle from product development to customer experience feedback to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met.

Your role and responsibilities In this role as EL Smart Power Quality Manager, you will have the opportunity to deploy and lead the quality strategy for a local organizational unit, including quality culture, systems, tools, and competent teams, with the aim to achieve and exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Each day, you will drive the local quality system through the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solutions to problems. You will also showcase your expertise by coordinating the efforts of all necessary local functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance and ensuring that the necessary certification requirements are met throughout the organization.

You will be mainly accountable for:
