Job summary

East Longmeadow Recreation Department is seeking a Lifeguard (Ellis & Associates Certified) to oversee safety and supervision at assigned aquatic facilities. You will enforce pool rules, monitor patrons, and respond promptly to emergencies in accordance with E&A standards.

Candidates must stay alert, provide excellent customer service, and participate in ongoing safety training. The role requires standing for extended periods, strong swimming ability, and the ability to work flexible hours

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Prior lifeguarding or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of general aquatic safety and department policies.
• Ability to remain alert for extended periods and respond calmly to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Monitors pool and aquatic facilities to ensure guest safety.
• Enforces all facility rules and regulations consistently.
• Responds quickly to aquatic emergencies and provides first aid/CPR as needed.
• Maintains equipment and pool area cleanliness and reports unsafe conditions.
