About the Fuller Unit

The Fuller Unit is a 55-60 bed Post-Surgical and Trauma Unit with approximately 160 employees. The average patient census is 34-38, focusing on adult post-surgical (total knee and hip replacements), telemetry, stroke, and general medical cases. The unit provides an outstanding supportive environment and advanced training for its staff. Elliot Hospital is designated as an Orthopaedic Center of Excellence.

Job Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients and families with needs ranging from basic to complex using the nursing process. Creates a therapeutic and caring environment for patients and families. Practices in accordance with the Elliot Hospital Interprofessional Practice model, the ANA Social Policy Statement, Scope and Standards of Practice, the Nursing Code of Ethics, and relevant specialty standards.

What You’ll Do

• Embrace and promote change to support optimal patient outcomes and an effective professional practice environment.
• Involve patients and families in goal setting and planning; communicate the plan of care for input and ensure seamless care across shifts and settings.
• Utilize current evidence and relevant standards to guide practice and identify areas for improvement.
• Demonstrate competent clinical practice using clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills.

Who You Are

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school. ASN required; active enrollment in a BSN program (signed commitment needed). BSN preferred.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Hampshire or hold a Compact License.
• Life support (BLS) certification appropriate to the patient population.
• Specialty certification required within six months of eligibility.
