Qualifications

• High school education is required.
• An associate degree or 60 college credits required at time of hire.
• Pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge.
• Pass the ELAD language proficiency test.
• Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the identification, screening, testing, and placement of ELL students.
• Assist in the delivery of individual or group instruction under teacher supervision.
• Serve as a liaison between the ELAD office and school site.
• Interpret at individual parent-teacher conferences under the direction of the SEI teacher.
• Prepare and process record keeping and materials necessary for documentation to convey information to appropriate parties.
• Maintain open communication with site and district personnel.
• Assist in training new SEI technicians at school site.
• Attend staff development in-services and meetings.
• Assist with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools.
