Job summary

Gresham Barlow School District is seeking an Educational Assistant – ELL to provide language support for English language learners. The position reports to licensed staff and includes classroom assistance, instructional support, and clerical tasks to help teachers manage students' language development.

The role requires experience with school-age children, an associates or higher degree, and state-required clearances.

Qualifications

Completed associates or higher degree and two years of college (72 college quarter hours) or demonstrated knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance and First Aid/CPR card
Experience Required: Prior job-related experience, paid or volunteer, with school age children

Responsibilities

Provides instructional support to students in large groups, small groups, and one-on-one situations.
Assists teachers with assessment, language tests, and language development tracking.
Performs record keeping and basic clerical tasks to support teachers and maintain student files in the students' primary language.
Translates verbal and written communication to assist students, staff and parents.
Supports students in developing positive interpersonal relationships and follows safety and district procedures.
