Job summary

Romeo Community Schools is seeking an English Language Learner Paraprofessional to provide supplemental instructional support for students scoring 1.0 to 3.9 on the WIDA Access test. You will work under ESL/Bilingual endorsed teachers and may assist students using a computer adaptive program designed to improve reading abilities.

The role includes individualized and small group support and close progress monitoring with the ESL/Bilingual staff to ensure student growth and success.

Qualifications

• Section 41 English Language Learner Paraprofessional works with students scoring 1.0 to 3.9 on the WIDA Access test.
• Provides supplemental, direct instructional support to students.
• May work with students using a computer adaptive program to increase reading ability.
• Provides individualized and small group support to students.
• Works under the supervision of ESL/Bilingual endorsed teachers.
• ESL/Bilingual teacher will monitor progress.

Responsibilities

• Support ELL students with reading and language development.
• Assist teachers with targeted instruction in small groups and one-on-one settings.
• Utilize approved computer adaptive reading tools to reinforce learning.

The Section 41 English Language Learner Paraprofessional works only with students scoring 1.0 to 3.9 on the WIDA Access test. The highly qualified paraprofessional provides supplemental, direct instructional support to students. They may work with students while they use a computer adaptive program specifically designed to increase reading ability. They may also provide individualized and small group support to students. This position works directly under the supervision of ESL/Bilingual endorsed teachers. The ESL/Bilingual teacher will progress monitor students and meet with the paraprofessional to discuss student progress.
