Job summary

Westover School in Middlebury, CT, seeks a Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach for the Spring 2027 season. This part-time role reports to the Athletic Director and leads all facets of the varsity program, including practices, game prep, and student-athlete development.

The ideal candidate has lacrosse coaching experience at high school/club/collegiate levels, strong leadership, and a commitment to an inclusive school community. CPR/First Aid/AED certification is expected or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Prior high school/club/college lacrosse coaching experience required.
• Ability to lead practices, game planning, and athlete development.
• Strong communication and collaboration with staff and families.
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the varsity lacrosse program including practices and game operations.
• Provide technical instruction, skill development, and game strategy.
• Develop developmentally appropriate practices focused on growth.
• Foster a positive team culture emphasizing respect and sportsmanship.
• Supervise athletes during practices, games, and travel.
• Coordinate with Athletic Director on schedules, logistics, and equipment.
• Provide leadership to assistant coaches and align with program goals.
• Communicate professionally with student-athletes, families, staff, and officials.
• Ensure compliance with school policies and league requirements.
• Travel with the team to away games as required.
