Job summary

Rice Companies is seeking a Traveling Project Superintendent to oversee on-site construction activities at our Sioux Falls, SD location, with regular travel to in-state and out-of-state job sites. The role requires strong leadership, scheduling, quality control, and safety adherence across subcontractors and Rice Companies personnel.

Responsibilities include daily reporting, maintaining look-ahead schedules, budget oversight, and ensuring drawings and specs are followed.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible commercial construction experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in construction projects.
• Ability to schedule and multi-task in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Records and submits daily project reports for subcontractors, suppliers, and Rice Companies personnel.
• Consult Daily Reporting SOP for direction.
• Maintain four-week look-ahead schedule and budget while ensuring quality workmanship.
• Order incidentals and store or stage materials for Rice Companies labor.
• Schedule and document inspections with Project Manager and subcontractors.
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, customers, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and Rice Companies staff.
• Promote site safety and rectify hazards promptly.
• Keep the job site and on-site office clean and organized.
• Verify current drawings are used by Rice Companies labor and subcontractors.
