GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality professional services focusing on the guest’s total look, supporting the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM). Key focus areas include performance (sales and productivity), guest service, and adherence to operating procedures and standards. A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and strong product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

The Elite Stylist champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values by performing the following duties and responsibilities, along with other assigned tasks:

Performance

• Perform hair services: hair design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed an average weekly sales goal of $1900 and productivity targets for hair services by delivering exceptional guest service and contributing to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink goals.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services; be knowledgeable about ingredients and benefits to better serve guests.
• Maintain regular attendance.

People

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serve all guests promptly and efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Partner with skin therapists and retail team to provide a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners to collaboratively deliver exceptional service.
• Promote loyalty programs, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures, complying with state guidelines.
• Adhere to service protocols to ensure consistent, high-quality guest experiences.
• Use booking and client management systems effectively.
• Report supply needs to the EM to ensure guest readiness.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational standards in the salon and store areas.
• Follow the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets through loss prevention practices and excellent guest service.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

• Proficiency in the latest salon techniques across all service categories and ability to develop skills as needed.
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals used in technical services.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
