General Summary & Scope
The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver high-quality professional services focusing on the guest’s overall look. Supporting the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM), they emphasize performance (sales, productivity), people (guest service), and process (operations and compliance). A passion for beauty, exceptional service, and product knowledge are essential.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
The Elite Stylist champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, performing the following duties and other assigned tasks:
Performance
- Perform hair services: design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
- Achieve or surpass a weekly sales goal of $1900 and productivity targets through excellent guest service and contributing to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink goals.
- Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
- Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
- Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services; be knowledgeable about their ingredients and benefits to better serve guests.
- Maintain consistent attendance.
People
- Build guest relationships via consultations and tailored recommendations.
- Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
- Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
- Develop professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional service.
- Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
- Attend mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.
Process
- Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
- Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, adhering to state guidelines.
- Follow established service protocols for consistent, exceptional guest experiences.
- Use booking and client management systems effectively.
- Communicate supply needs to the EM to ensure guest readiness.
- Maintain high standards of store cleanliness and organization.
- Adhere to the dress code.
- Protect company assets via loss prevention practices and excellent guest service.
- Perform other operational tasks as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Education: Cosmetology license required.
Experience: Relevant work experience required.
Skills:
- Proficiency in current salon techniques for hair and makeup services; willingness to develop skills in all categories.
- Proficiency with salon equipment and chemicals.
- Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships and clientele.
