GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality professional services focused on the guest’s total look. Supporting the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM), they emphasize performance, guest service, and process adherence. A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Elite Stylist exemplifies Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through the following duties and responsibilities:

Performance

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Achieve or surpass a weekly sales goal of $1900 and meet productivity targets for hair services by delivering exceptional guest service and contributing to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink goals.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services, and be knowledgeable about their ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serve all guests promptly and efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail team to provide a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, adhering to state guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Use booking and clientele systems effectively for scheduling and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM to ensure guest readiness.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational standards in the salon and store areas.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Follow loss prevention practices and provide excellent guest service to protect assets.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.
