GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE
The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver quality professional services focused on the guest’s overall look, support the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager, and prioritize performance, guest service, and compliance with procedures. A passion for beauty, excellent guest service, and product knowledge are essential.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance
- Perform a variety of hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
- Achieve or surpass weekly sales goals of $1900 and meet productivity targets through exceptional guest service and sales efforts.
- Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
- Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
- Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, understanding their ingredients and benefits to better serve guests.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
People
- Develop and nurture guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
- Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
- Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for comprehensive guest service.
- Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners to ensure exceptional service delivery.
- Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
- Attend mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.
Process
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, adhering to state guidelines.
- Follow established service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
- Use booking and clientele systems effectively for scheduling and follow-up.
- Report supply needs to the Experience Manager to ensure guest readiness.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational standards in the salon and store areas.
- Adhere to the dress code and loss prevention practices.
- Perform other operational tasks as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Cosmetology license required.
Experience: Prior relevant work experience required.
Skills:
- Proficiency in current salon techniques across all service categories.
- Ability to operate salon equipment and handle chemicals safely.
- Skill in recommending and selling professional hair care and makeup products.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent relationship-building skills to develop and maintain a client base.
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Continuous movement during shifts.
- Ability to lift/move up to 10 lbs.
