GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality services focusing on the guest’s overall look, support the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager, and emphasize performance, guest service, and process adherence. A passion for the beauty industry, excellent guest service skills, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As a champion of Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, the Elite Stylist performs the following:

Performance

• Perform various hair services including cuts, color, styling, treatments, and makeup applications.
• Meet or exceed weekly sales and productivity goals, contributing to store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink targets.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Follow established service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Use booking and client management systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs and maintain store cleanliness and standards.
• Adhere to dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Cosmetology license

Experience: Relevant prior work experience required

Skills:

• Proficiency in salon techniques and ability to develop skills across all service categories.
• Proficiency with salon equipment and chemicals.
• Ability to demonstrate and sell hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Capacity to build and maintain client relationships.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Ability to move continuously, lift up to 10 lbs, and stand for long periods.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting.
