GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE
The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver high-quality professional services focusing on the guest’s overall look, support the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM), and prioritize performance, guest service, and operational compliance. Passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge are essential.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance
- Perform various hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
- Achieve or surpass a weekly sales goal of $1900 through excellent guest service, contributing to store sales, loyalty, and retail shrink targets.
- Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
- Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
- Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services, and communicate their benefits to guests.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
People
- Build guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
- Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
- Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
- Establish professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional service.
- Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
- Participate in mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.
Process
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, adhering to state guidelines.
- Follow established service protocols for consistency and quality.
- Use booking and client management systems effectively.
- Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational standards within the store.
- Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
- Follow loss prevention practices and provide excellent guest service.
- Perform other operational tasks as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Cosmetology license required.
Experience
- Relevant prior work experience required.
Skills
- Proficiency in latest salon techniques across all service categories.
- Ability to operate salon equipment and handle chemicals safely.
- Skill in recommending and selling hair care and makeup products.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capability to build and maintain client relationships.
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Continuous mobility and ability to stand for long periods.
