Job summary

SpaceX at Starbase, TX is seeking a STRUCTURAL WELDER to build, maintain, and upgrade structural and fluid systems for rocket testing campaigns. You will join an elite fabricator team to rapidly construct large assemblies for Starship testing at our South Texas facility.

The role requires hands-on welding, interpreting engineering drawings, and maintaining AWS D1.1 and ASME B31.3 standards through training. Occasional travel and shifts may be needed to meet program needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency
• 2+ years welding experience in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW or FCAW

Responsibilities

• Complete welding assignments and procedures for construction and repair of site structures
• Cut, trim, or scarf metal; fabricate components to dimensions for building and assembling test site structural forms
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations
• Utilize hand welding and flame-cutting equipment to weld metal components
• Visually inspect welds per AWS D1.1 and ASME B31.3 with training
• Obtain and maintain internal licenses, operator permits, or certifications as required
• Improve operations and decrease turnaround times
• Work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Perform related duties to ensure an efficient work environment
