Job summary

The Multi-Purpose Canine (MPC) Trainer at People Technology And Processes supports Naval Special Warfare by delivering expert training, evaluation, and program guidance for elite working dogs and their handlers.

This role shapes the full lifecycle of MPC development—from puppy selection and foundational training to advanced operational readiness—while providing subject‑matter expertise in conditioning, handler instruction, equipment testing, and MPC Team employment.

Qualifications

• Five years’ management experience in MPC/Handler development programs overseeing canine trainer teams.
• Seven+ years hands-on training with both handlers and canines across tactical obedience, explosives detection, bite work, tracking, infiltration, rappel, and related operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide recommendations for MPC and canine training and conditioning.
• Provide recommendations for students and MPC Handler initial and sustainment training and evaluation.
• MPC and Handler training, equipment, and SOP testing and evaluation services.
• Provide canine adult and canine puppy selection recommendations for Government supplied canines.
• Coordinate requests for resources (training locations, equipment, personnel) to the government.
• Attend meetings and training events, offering SME level recommendations on training methods and equipment.
