Job summary

Real Salt Lake is seeking a dedicated Scout to support talent identification across MLS, MLS NEXT Pro, and Academy pathways. You will conduct live and video evaluations, produce standardized reports, and develop shortlists aligned to our game model.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of multiple positions, platforms like Wyscout/Hudl/StatsBomb/Opta, and proven reporting discipline, with willingness to travel including evenings and weekends during peak scouting periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional football experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate players across MLS, MLS NEXT Pro, Academy, college, domestic, and international markets.
• Produce standardized player reports assessing tactical, technical, physical, and character attributes.
• Build and maintain position-specific shortlists aligned to game model and transfer-window strategy.
• Collaborate with the Director of Soccer Analytics to integrate event, tracking, and video data into scouting evaluations.
• Lead background work on targets, including character references, injury history, contract status, and availability.
• Present findings clearly to the Sporting Director, coaches, and recruitment staff through reports and video clips.
• Maintain the club’s scouting database with accurate assignments, reports, ratings, and follow-up actions.
• Attend matches, tournaments, training sessions, and trials, including evenings and weekends.
• Monitor the transfer market for talent and loan opportunities that fit parameters.
