Job summary

The Washington Spirit seeks a licensed security professional to provide welfare, protection, and security for the team, including players, coaching staff, and support staff, through unarmed executive protection assignments during training, games, and appearances.

The Team Security Manager will conduct advance planning, threat assessments, manage requests, collaborate with Audi Field security and local law enforcement, respond to emergencies, and travel up to 50% with travel, lodging, and meals

Qualifications

• College degree with prior experience in protection detail or related security roles.
• Experience in advance planning, surveillance, and counter-surveillance for high net-worth clients.
• Proficiency in English; Spanish or French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide close protection for players, coaching staff, and team support staff during training, appearances, home games, and away matches.
• Lead counter surveillance operations prior to away matches for venues, lodging, and airports.
• Perform protective advance planning and threat vulnerability assessments for away matches and events.
• Manage requests and ensure safety precautions for players, staff, or their families.
• Collaborate with Audi Field security during home events and manage locker room security matters.
• Respond to emergencies and assist medical personnel as needed.
• De-escalate tense situations and coordinate with local police when needed.
• Produce reports on suspicious activity, incidents, and daily security logs.
• Inspect transport vehicles for safety and sanitation.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement for security coverage when required.
• Operate and verify function of protective and communications equipment like CCTV and radios.
• Identify deficiencies in security plans and escalate to Sr. Director of Soccer Operations.
• Domestic travel up to 50% of the time; travel, lodging, and meals are covered by the club.
