Job summary

Dream Care Rides is hiring a Stretcher/Gurney NEMT Driver to serve patients in Palatine, IL and the northwest suburbs of Chicago. This 1099 contractor role offers flexible scheduling and high pay for experienced drivers.

You will operate an ambulette with a power stretcher and work with a trained attendant to ensure safe two-person transfers, hospital discharges, and nursing facility handoffs. Requires valid IL license and medical transport experience.

Qualifications

• Must have valid IL driver's license and clean MVR.
• Pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and fitness evaluation.
• Minimum age 21 with 3+ years driving experience.
• Experience with stretcher/gurney transport preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification required; EMT-B/BLS a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely load/unload stretcher-bound patients using two-person lift protocols.
• Operate power stretcher and Broda Traversa chair for transfers.
• Coordinate with hospital discharge coordinators and nursing staff.
• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections of stretcher, oxygen, and climate control.
• Maintain patient dignity and comfort during transport and positioning.
• Document trip details via the Dream Care Rides driver app.
• Follow IDPH, DOT, and company patient-handling protocols.
• Provide bed-to-bed service for inter-facility transfers.
