Job summary

Morgan State University is seeking a Head Golf Coach for its NCAA Division I golf program. This full‑time, twelve‑month position will supervise a full‑time assistant coach and oversee all phases of the golf program within the MEAC.

The coach must promote the University’s mission and ensure compliance with NCAA rules. The role requires leadership, strategic planning for practices and competitions, and strong recruiting within NCAA guidelines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university.
Minimum three years of collegiate golf coaching experience.
CPR/First Aid certification required.
Valid driver’s license required.
PGA certification required.
Preferred: Master’s degree.
USGTF certification may be considered.

Responsibilities

Provide skill instruction and concepts to Golf student‑athletes.
Monitor academic progress and provide support as needed.
Lead planning meetings to strategize practices and competitions.
Promote well‑being of student‑athletes (physical, mental, emotional, social).
Manage golf team budget including travel, meals, apparel, reconciliations.
Recruit quality student‑athletes within NCAA rules and evaluate via in-person/video/visits.
Maintain a database of prospective student‑athletes.
Respond to inquiries within 24 hours.
Build recruiting schedules within NCAA rules.
Coordinate official/unofficial visits and documentation.
Cultivate community relationships for sponsorships and fundraising.
Coordinate campus community outreach and summer camps.
Plan professional development for program growth.
Ensure compliance with Title IX and MSU policies.
