Job summary

Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD seeks a Head Golf Coach to oversee all phases of the golf program at an NCAA Division I institution within the MEAC. The role requires leadership of a full-time assistant coach and ensuring compliance with university policies.

The Head Coach will recruit, develop student-athletes, manage team operations, and promote academic success and well-being among athletes while upholding the university’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required.
• Three years of collegiate golf coaching experience required.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Mental Health First Aid certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide skill instruction and guidance to golf student-athletes.
• Monitor academic progress and provide needed support.
• Plan and coordinate practices and competition activities.
• Promote well-being of student-athletes including physical and mental health.
• Manage golf team budget, travel, meals, apparel, and reconciliations.
• Recruit high-quality student-athletes within NCAA rules.
• Maintain database of prospective student-athletes and coordinate visits.
• Coordinate community relationships for sponsorships and fundraising.
