Detroit Tigers seek a ML Performance Rehab Coach to lead rehabilitation-to-performance programming for injured players across Lakeland to the Major League club. This role emphasizes bridging clinical rehab with return-to-competition readiness, in partnership with Health & Performance staff.

The position requires CSCS certification and DPT/PT licensure, with a background in professional or collegiate strength & conditioning and strong communication skills.

Competenze

• CSCS certification and experience leading strength & conditioning programs at professional or collegiate level.
• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Spanish fluency preferred.
• Excellent communication skills across Medical, Athletic Training, Rehab, and coaching staff.
• Experience integrating rehabilitation into performance training and supporting injured athletes through recovery.
• Experience with movement assessment, velocity-based training technologies, and workload/performance data.

Mansioni

• Lead the transition from clinical rehabilitation to performance training for injured players at the major league level.
• Develop progressive loading protocols bridging therapeutic exercise and strength training.
• Design position-specific conditioning for rehab and return-to-play.
• Establish exit benchmarks with PT & Rehab Coordinator and staff.
• Use performance metrics and data to guide rehab progressions and return-to-play decisions.
• Collaborate with Mental Health & Performance staff to support players emotionally during recovery.
• Coordinate with PT & Rehab Coordinator to reflect clinical status in rehab programming.
• Provide regular status updates on return-to-play timelines to stakeholders.
• Refine rehab protocols for MLB and MiLB affiliates for consistency.
• Stay current with rehab science, strength & conditioning advances, and sports tech.
• Document rehab decisions in organizational data systems.
• Travel with the Major League club or between affiliates as needed.

Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) / PT licensure
