Job summary

Washington Nationals are seeking a Major League Rehab Physical Therapist to lead clinical rehabilitation at the Spring Training complex in West Palm Beach. You will design, execute, and progress individualized rehab plans in partnership with team physicians and staff, integrating treatment, preparation, and baseball activity into a single return-to-performance plan.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in physical therapy, Florida licensure eligibility, and experience in professional baseball

Qualifications

• Degree in physical therapy and eligibility for Florida licensure.
• Experience in orthopedic or postoperative rehab in high-performance sports.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with cross-location coordination.
• Ability to apply objective testing and clinical reasoning to rehab plans.
• Spanish proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical evaluations, treatment, and rehab programming for MLB players assigned to West Palm Beach.
• Define each player's status, priorities, and progression criteria with physicians and MLB Medical.
• Use testing protocols to monitor recovery and guide progressions.
• Collaborate with Rehab S&C to link rehab with strength and conditioning development.
• Coordinate with pitching and position-player staff to integrate activity within clinical restrictions.
• Maintain a documented return-to-performance plan with milestones and barriers.
• Coordinate handoffs as players transition between rehab and on-field status.
• Contribute to rehab standards and staff education.
