Job summary

The St. Louis Cardinals organization is seeking a highly skilled Minor League Strength & Conditioning Coach to develop and implement physical development programs across the player development system.

The role includes designing strength, power, and conditioning programs, conducting performance testing, and collaborating with sports medicine to support player progression through affiliate locations in 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field.
• CSCS certification.
• Current CPR/AED and basic life support.
• Minimum 3+ years of strength and conditioning experience in elite-level programs.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Windows Suite, Google Workspace, and Slack.

Responsibilities

• Implement Cardinals performance protocols during Spring Training, at affiliate locations and off-season camps.
• Design and prescribe strength, power, and conditioning programs for minor league players.
• Organize and conduct performance testing with sports medicine and performance science staff.
• Implement position-specific conditioning programs addressing baseball demands.
• Collaborate on workload plans and recovery strategies with affiliate staff to optimize readiness and performance.
• Use objective metrics to guide programming decisions and track player development.
• Assist sports medicine with injury support, first aid, stabilization, and crisis management procedures.
• Maintain communication with performance leadership regarding player progress and affiliate operations.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology

Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, or related discipline

RSCC certification

5+ years of strength and conditioning experience

FMS certification

OnBase U hitting and pitching certifications

Mental Health First Aid

Practical return-to-competition experience

Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) strongly preferred

Understanding of professional baseball operations, travel demands, and scheduling constraints
