Job summary

Sevymca in Simi Valley, California, seeks an experienced Swim Coach to lead our competitive aquatics program. You will design and run structured practices that develop stroke technique, endurance, and swimmer progression, while fostering a positive team atmosphere.

You will guide swimmers of various ages, provide clear feedback, track progress, and collaborate with aquatics leadership to ensure consistent program expectations and strong swimmer development.

Qualifications

• Experience in competitive swimming and coaching preferred.
• Ability to teach stroke technique and drills.
• Strong communication with parents and guardians.
• Ability to maintain swimmer records and progress.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement structured swim practices for age/ability levels.
• Provide instruction on freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and starts/turns/finishes.
• Track swimmer attendance, progress, and records accurately.
• Communicate with parents about progress, expectations, scheduling and questions.
• Provide clear feedback and set development goals for swimmers.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive practice environment.
• Collaborate with Aquatics leadership and other coaches for consistency.
• Model sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and YMCA values.
