Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to protect campus and hospital personnel, patients and visitors. You will patrol, monitor access, and respond to emergencies while coordinating with the SRC and security leadership.

You must meet the minimum qualifications, work all shifts, and maintain training. Lethal weapons certification is required within 90 days, and you will support parking, safety teams, and escort duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or GED and complete security training modules.
• Must be able to run one city block and work all shifts.
• Must understand security concepts and protect campus assets.
• Must maintain required training and be able to operate MS Office tools.
• Lethal Weapons Certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Protect safety of university and hospital personnel, patients, and visitors.
• Perform security patrols at fixed posts or on rounds and verify IDs.
• Respond to incidents, notify supervisors, and deescalate conflicts.
• Maintain patrol logs and document reports of incidents.
• Provide assistance and escort for staff and visitors as needed.
• Support campus parking issues and safety teams, including trauma helicopter landing support.
